ContentLink™ :
A ContentLink™ is part of Kontera’s (a provider of advertising services) in-text advertising system and for a website publisher provides the possibility to earn money by including content relevant advertisements on his website.
It works like this:
The publisher embeds
some lines of Kontera ad-code in the source code of his website
which detects keyword
s in the
website content
which are relevant to ads contained in the Kontera
data base. This keyword is then converted into a
ContentLink™ with special font color and double underline
to give it a unique
appearance. Mouse-over such a link opens a little window with
the relevant ad text and graphic elements. A click on the
ContentLink™ takes the user to the advertiser’s website
and generates revenue for the
publisher.
Example of a Kontera ContentLink™ on www.hdtvplace.com. The context relevant ad is opened by moving the mouse over the ContentLink™ “digital TV”. The whole ad window is a clickable link which directs the user to the advertiser’s website.
[Content is from Latin continere, contentum = to contain;
Link comes from Old Danish lænkia = chain]
