Clickbank:
Clickbank is one of the biggest Affiliate Networks on the Internet. It deals only with digital product s like ebooks and software which can be downloaded right after the payment. On Clickbank vendors can offer their products to affiliates and affiliates have a huge platform where they can find products they would like to promote.
Internet marketers can profit from Clickbank in two ways:
They can
signup as an affiliate
for free, choose their own Clickbank
nickname (username) and then promote every single
product in Clickbank’s huge supply through their
own unique affiliate
link
, which
for Clickbank is called hoplink. The
code of this link contains the nickname and
a unique designation for the product.
A typical Clickbank hoplink would look like this:
http://affiliate_nickname.productID.hop.clickbank.net
The link directs to the product’s sales page and takes
care that every visitor from a link is tracked and
the commission for every sale booked on the
referrer's account. Having sold a product
successfully Clickbank automatically pays out the
affiliate commission bimonthly. The commission
rate is determined by the seller and is seldom below
50%, often even at 75% or higher. The most successful
Clickbank affiliates make a regular 6 figure income
each year.
(Note: A Clickbank affiliate
link is very easy to hijack which will make the
affiliate lose his commission. See
under Affiliate Link Hijacking
for more information and
countermeasures).
If you want to sell your own digital product Clickbank is a good solution, mainly because of it’s huge number of affiliates. You have to pay a one time set-up fee of $49,95 and then 7.5% + $1 for every successful sale. In exchange Clickbank handles the whole sales procedure, accepts the customer’s money, takes care that the customer will be able to download his purchased product, pays the affiliate and pays you. That is for many marketers a much more comfortable solution than having to take care of a safe and reliable payment option on their own website. Selling via Clickbank has the big advantage that Clickbank is a very well established and renowned company in which customers have trust. Plus it is one of the heaviest traffic websites in the net Alexa rank 844, i.e. the 844th most visited site on the web). If your product is good enough that it can make it under the top sellers you can be sure of making a lot of money.

better readability. #1 is the top seller in this
category. The blue link in each line, as well as the
“view pitch page” link leads directly to the sales page.
“Create hoplink” opens a window which lets the affiliate
create his own, unique affiliate link by simply entering
his Clickbank nickname.
In green there is additional information for affiliates to
help deciding for a profitable product:
$/sale: how much an affiliate earns with one sale
Future $: since 2007 Clickbank allows recurring billing like e.g. monthly membership fees. Any commissions earned from rebilling would come under this heading
Total $/sale: the total $ per sale including the rebills
%/sale: the affiliate commission percentage of the full product price
%refd: the percentage of the total product sales which were referred by affiliates, not by the merchants own promotion
grav: a weighted figure as an indicator how many affiliates actually got paid for referring sales
